‘Fuji Film’ Lightroom Preset

FUJI FILM is a 90’s film inspired preset created by @earthtokori on Instagram, meant to be used on the free Adobe Lightroom mobile app. This preset will enhance your everyday photos; adding that nostalgic, disposable camera feel with film-like shadow tones & purple/pink highlight tones, just like 90’s film! This is a single preset, made to be extremely diverse and can be used in any setting (interiors, outdoors, harsh sunlight, and even dim lighting). However, you may need to make adjustments depending on each particular photo — tips listed below!

This a mobile only preset, and is to be used on the free Adobe Lightroom mobile app. You do not need a computer to download. Please continue reading for installation instructions.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

First, it’s important that you download the free Lightroom app, as you can not use these presets without it.

STEP 1:

Upon your purchase, you should receive an email with the download link. It will say “View your files on Etsy” once you click on that, choose the browser of your choice.

STEP 2:

From there, it will take you to the Etsy page with preset file. It will have the name of the preset (FUJI FILM 90’s inspired preset) and the picture next to it. Under it, will be a long number/letter code, with .dng at the end of it. Click on that!

STEP 3:

It will take you to what seems like a blank page. It has the same number/letter code and it will say “Adobe raw image”. Under it, it will say “Open in Lightroom” click that option.

STEP 4:

It will take you to a picture of succulents that says “FUJI FILM”, this is the file that has the preset on it! Yay, you’re almost done!

STEP 5:

In the upper right hand corner, there will be three dots with a circle around it - click on that. Click on the option “create preset”. Once you’ve done that, it will pop up a “new preset” screen. Make sure all the boxes are checked, and title the preset “FUJI FILM”.

& Voila, you are done! You now have the preset saved to your Lightroom and you do not have to repeat those steps again. You can now choose any photo of your liking to edit, click where it says “presets” then click “FUJI FILM”.

TIPS FOR PHOTO EDITING:

If the preset is too bright, simply swipe over to the ‘Exposure’ tab, and take it down a notch. It also helps to take down ‘Highlights’ and ‘Whites’ as well, to target a more specific look!

If the preset is too dark, you can do the same exposure trick but instead take it up a notch. Also, play around with the ‘Shadows’ and ‘Blacks’ tabs.

If the preset is too saturated, swipe over to the ‘Vibrance’ tab and feel free to take it down to your liking. If you’re needing to target specific colors, head over to the ‘Color Mix’. Here, you can adjust hues, saturation, and luminance of each particular color. You can make them brighter, darker, etc. If the photo seems to saturated to me, I like to bring down the saturation of yellow on the color mix. Photos naturally pull yellow undertones, so taking that down can also make a huge difference.
